“The Maritime Navigation Regulation and Security Committee” launches “Marine Assistant” service to provide marine crafts for the government entities

Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Council for Border Crossing Points Security, the Maritime Navigation Regulation and Security Committee, in coordination with the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), launched the “Marine Assistant” service, which is specialized in providing marine crafts in the maritime sector in Dubai. From his side, Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority, confirmed that in response to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to develop a service system that supports the efficiency and competitiveness of the maritime sector in the Emirate of Dubai, DMCA is proud to participate in the “Marine Assistant” service, which aims to establish a unified entity of a purely civilian nature that initially provides a total of 10 marine crafts (boats), as an initial stage, affiliated with DMCA, Dubai Municipality and Dubai International Marine Club, with the aim of supporting government entities and providing field and logistical services to enable them to perform and facilitate their missions at the sea, such as inspections, marine surveys and other field operations, which achieves the optimum benefit of government resources and achieving the highest level of coordination between the authorities in the Emirate to serve the public interest. The Executive Director of DMCA added: “The Marine Assistant service provides its services to all government departments with the aim of enhancing levels of coordination between these authorities, so that the requesting entity can address the Authority directly to use the marine crafts in executing and performing the tasks that require its presence in the waters of the Emirate of Dubai at any time”. Sheikh Saeed explained that the marine assistant service is aimed at enforcing laws, decisions and regulations and maintain discipline and civilized practices in the waters of Dubai in accordance with a positive approach to be received by the public, pointing out that the DMCA will assume the responsibility of coordinating and supervising the provision of marine crafts when needed. Sheikh Saeed said that the Dubai Maritime City Authority is looking forward to continuing to work on upgrading all the services related to the maritime sector in order to enhance the marine efficiency and promote the global competitiveness of the sector, stressing that the Authority is keen to be updated about the latest developments to explore the latest services in the sector, and beneficial partnerships for all the parties concerned with the marine traffic in Dubai. Sheikh Saeed appreciated the continuous follow-up by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor to develop the maritime sector in Dubai according to the highest standards and international practices, praising the important and vital role played by the Maritime Navigation Regulation and Security Committee in Dubai to develop and enhance the services provided within the maritime sector.
