“Dubai Maritime Authority” participates in the UAE delegation of the International Maritime Organization meetings in London

The Dubai Maritime City Authority, at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, concluded its participation as part of the country's delegation in the 128th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which was held at the headquarters in the capital of United Kingdom, London. The UAE delegation to the meetings was headed by H.E. Eng. Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport, Affairs, the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, in the presence of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority, representing the Authority, and a number of officials of the concerned authorities in the country. Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority, explained that the Authority's participation in the meetings of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) comes as part of its continuous efforts to discuss ways to strengthen the maritime industry in the country in general, and in Dubai in particular, which is in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, regarding the promotion of sustainable development for Dubai and its global competitiveness in various fields, stressing the efforts made by the authority to apply best practices that would enhance the leadership position of the emirate in the maritime sector locally, regionally and globally. Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed indicated that participation in the International Maritime Organization meetings is an appropriate platform to launch towards a promising future of economic partnerships and open fruitful prospects for future projects and opportunities that will develop the maritime sector, pointing out that the Dubai Maritime City Authority continues its efforts to upgrade the maritime sector in Dubai in accordance with the highest international standards by following the best practices in the sector and building partnerships that benefit all parties concerned with maritime traffic in Dubai.
