Ahmed Mahboob named as CEO of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation

H.E Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, has issued a resolution appointing H.E. Ahmed Mahboob as the CEO of PCFC, in addition to his duties as the General Director of Dubai Customs.On this occasion, H.E. Sultan Bin Sulayem said: “We are delighted to welcome His Excellency Ahmed Mahboob to be CEO of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, who has a long record of notable achievements at local and international levels, based on his experiences in this sector and his leadership skills, which have lasted for nearly three decades".Sultan Bin Sulayem reassuring that the corporation's efforts to facilitate and promote economic transformation in Dubai through innovative processes, regulations and solutions contribute to ensuring sustainable commercial activities. He pointed out that the appointing of Ahmed Mahboob to this position underscores the commitment to steer the organization's operations to record levels, and benefits from the strong position achieved by the business units and entities under its umbrella, which will guarantee the launch of a new era of transformation and sustainable growth, and to achieve future aspirations in accordance with the directions of our wise leadership.For his part, H.E. Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Director General of Dubai Customs, said: " “I appreciate the high confidence that the leadership of PCFC has placed in me as the CEO of the organization, and I look forward to contribute by supporting existing efforts aimed at achieving transformation in ports and free zones sector, including enhancing economic and maritime sector activities in Dubai, as well as achieving organization's vision and strategic objectives".The CEO of PCFC conducted field visits to number of business units under the umbrella and supervision of Ports and Customs and the Free Zone Corporation. He visited the Department of Planning & Development – Trakhees, and was received by H.E. Eng Abdulla Belhoul, Executive Director of the Department. During the visit, Mahboob was briefed on Trakhees's departments, their competencies, the services they provide to customers and the efforts made in the development areas under the affiliates of the Department.Mahboob also visited the Dubai Maritime City Authority and met with H.E. the Executive Director of DMCA, Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, where he reviewed the DMCA's orientations and services, and its efforts business units' efforts to develop components of the maritime sector and modernize infrastructure and logistics services to enhance the competitive advantages of the Emirate of Dubai at the regional and global levels. Mahboob concluded the schedule of visits with a visit to the Marine Agency for Wooden Dhows, where he met with H.E. Mahmood Amin, CEO of the agency, and was briefed on the services provided by the agency to traders through wooden ships. In addition to technical solutions to facilitate operations and tighten control over this activity.H.E. Ahmed Mahboob praised the efforts made by the business units, stressing that the development and growth process will continue to meet current requirements and future expectations, in a way that serves the ports, customs and free zones sector, noting that the efforts will be aimed at achieving the happiness of customers and keeping pace with the directives of our wise government in strengthening Dubai's regional and global status
