Dubai Maritime City Authority's stand welcomes more than 15,000 visitors during the Dubai International Boat Show

The Dubai Maritime City Authority concluded its participation in the Dubai International Boat Show 2022, which was held in Dubai Harbour from 9 to 13 March, amid a huge welcome and turnout from more than 15,000 visitors to the authority’s stand to explore and learn about the services provided and the latest innovations offered in the maritime field, especially the Interactive Dubai Maritime Map, which is displayed for the first time during the show events. Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime City Authority, said that the maritime authority is keen to regulate marine activity in Dubai waters and provide many facilities for procedures related to the activities of the maritime sector in the emirate, pointing to the launch of a package of facilities for the visiting foreign yachts to support the Dubai initiative as a winter touristic destination 2022. Sheikh Saeed added: "The Dubai Maritime City Authority, as part of its efforts to make Dubai a winter touristic destination, has allocated a number of services and facilities for visiting foreign yachts, including, but not limited to, tax exemption from value-added tax, and exemption from customs duties in case that of shipping yachts to Dubai, with availing the service of entering foreign yachts around the clock among other facilities provided by the authority to foreign yachts’ owners. Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum explained that the Interactive Dubai Maritime Map, which was displayed for the first time at the exhibition, among a wide turnout from visitors. The map identified the docking areas, recreational activities, tourist places, anchorage areas for commercial ships, in addition to the prohibited area. The Dubai Maritime City Authority's stand at the exhibition attracted more than 15,000 visitors from different countries of the world, who showed interest in the initiatives and facilities provided by the authority to facilitate procedures for the customer and practicing maritime activities. The Maritime Authority has also made available, through its platform, an integrated portfolio of services, including allowing the registration or renewal of pleasure water bikes licenses (Jet Skis) for a period of one or two years, in addition to activating the self-inspection service for marine crafts (up to 12 meters) by uploading the required photos electronically. The authority's stand also provided the services of immediate renewal of marine activities permits, registration of marine crafts and licensing of crews through smart digital platforms on the authority's stand. During the shoe, Sheikh Saeed met with a number of strategic partners of the Dubai Maritime City Authority, in addition to a group of senior officials and specialists in the field of boats and yachts from inside and outside the country. The discussions focused on ways to support and develop the position of the maritime sector in Dubai and advance it among local and international forums. During his discussions, Sheikh Saeed also emphasized the authority’s role in defining and studying the path of a sustainable future for the maritime sector in the Emirate of Dubai, by focusing on the goals of the UAE and maintaining Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for marine leisure activities, and one of the most developed and competitive maritime capitals in the world. He referred to the efforts made to support and develop the marine infrastructure for the regional waters in the Emirate.
